is KENPO KARATE? |
American Kenpo Karate is an American Martial Art designed to provide students
with practical self-protection skills through a process of training and
personal development. While tracing its roots back to ancient Chinese and
Japanese Fighting systems, American Kenpo is a modern art based on a common
sense approach and logic. Kenpo is a practical, realistic style that emphasizes
economy of motion and avoids wasted energy. In learning the movements of
American Kenpo, students are taught that many applications exist within
the basic movements. Defensive movements are also applied as offensive movements
transforming blocks into strikes and strikes into blocks. By combining ancient
fighting techniques and modern scientific principles Kenpo represents a
progressive learning system that is both effective and dynamic in application.
Through development of this system, modern Kenpo Karate has evolved into
one of the most comprehensive martial art systems in the world today.
